Day Opportunities for people with Learning Disabilities
People thrive when they are given positive opportunities to learn, develop their skills and get involved with other people. YAWN Life does just that, offering day time activities for adults with learning disabilities.
About You Do you want a service that combines care, activity and fun in a sociable setting? Do you need support to improve your life skills, build confidence, and become a more active member of the community with support? Do you find choices for daytime activities can be limited and isolating? Key Features of YAWN Life Skills building through real life activities Supported volunteering in the community Healthy active lifestyles Promotion of confidence, responsibility, and appropriate behaviour Small sociable groups and lots of suitable activities to occupy your time Client centered 9am to 3.30pm Mon - Friday In house transport subject to location, availability and funding. Additional days may be available in college holidays/shut downs Who is YAWN Life for? Clients must have a learning disability, be capable of managing their own personal care and have needs which do not require 1 to 1 care. They will be people who enjoy spending time with others and who want to take part in activities as part of a sociable group on a regular basis. Places are obtained via referral from your Local Authority Adults with Learning Disabilities Social care department. Prior to place allocation assessment of needs and expectations would take place between clients/ carers and YAWN Life staff. Interested in knowing more?
